The season of giving has quickly come around again and we have rounded up some small businesses from across The Cotswolds that we love or have bookmarked for perfect gift-giving this Christmas! From home interiors to gorgeous kids wear and cosy knits, explore our Cotswolds small business gift guide below.

Cotswold Pure

Sally hand pours her beautiful candles inspired by nature in The Cotswolds’ countryside. Besides the gorgeous aromas, we love Cotswold Pure candles as they are sustainably made with natural ingredients. Sally’s philosophy is to keep things simple, using few ingredients so you’ll see no long list of chemicals or nasties, and finally all products are plastic free.

Each collection uses a selection of reclaimed pieces and she also uniquely sells candles that are refillable! The fragrances vary from winter aromas such as cedar and pine needle to classic scents such as geranium and lavender. Perfect for gifting, there’s an option to have your candles gift wrapped accompanied by a short note to whoever you’re gifting to.

Domestic Science

For a selection of contemporary and vintage homewares, toys and so much more, Domestic Science is the perfect place to visit. There are three stores to peruse in Nailsworth, Tetbury and Stow-on-the-Wold plus lots of goodies to shop online.

The thing we love most about Domestic Science is that it’s an emporium of eclectic items procured from across the world. For example, their soft towels woven by artisans in Turkey and unusual Puebco dog beds, created from recycled tent material giving each one a signature finish. Whoever you’re shopping for, there’s a selection of gifts available for all the family including your beloved pets, ranging from botanicals and indulgent food items to vintage finds that will bring a little sparkle to any home.

Pooky Lighting

The perfect stop for decorative, beautiful lighting, Pooky have the most aesthetically pleasing collection of lamps and shades to satisfy every style of home. These lamps are gorgeous to gift new home owner or interiors lover, as each lamp feels like a real treat and work of art.

Whether their taste is more contemporary, traditional or they’re lovers of pieces slightly more unusual, you’ll find something to love on the Pooky website. You can also visit their showroom in Barnwood, but this is by appointment only and their team advises making contact before your visit to ensure any items you specifically wish to view are brought up from the warehouse.

Also, it’s worth noting that every Friday there’s the opportunity to attend a Seconds Sale! Again, booking is advised to ensure entry as bookings will take priority over walk-ins, but this is a fantastic opportunity to pick up one of their pieces for less.

Frankie Davies the founder of Charl Knitwear has over 20 years of experience designing knitwear for luxury brands and independent labels. Over time, Frankie’s felt an increased responsibility to play a role in ensuring the use of ethical and sustainable methods for sourcing wool and producing knitwear in the industry. Her experience told her both were possible and hence Charl Knitwear was born.

Charl Knitwear is produced using organic, traceable and naturally dyed cashmere, British wool and baby alpaca yarn. All products are produced in carefully selected factories where consideration is given to every step of the process to create the highest quality, long-lasting knitwear pieces.

Just browse the website and fall in love with the delightful jumpers, luxurious scarfs, quirky tea cosies and egg warmers. The knitwear is inspired by archival pieces from Norfolk fishermen, making these pieces that little bit more special and the perfect cosy gift this winter.

One for gifting little ones or for a baby’s First Christmas, we are enchanted by the gorgeous items from Isla and Wilbur. Isla and Wilbur was created from Hamish and Emma Dalrymple’s passion to reignite their own childhoods in Scotland and The Cotswolds. They wanted to reflect the farm life they both knew and loved in their own children’s rooms and the adorable hand-drawn characters Isla the lamb and Wilbur the Highland calf were born.

Their website is such a joy to peruse, with beautiful items designed using high quality materials to create a warm and colourful nursing and sleeping environment for little ones. There’s a selection of beautifully soft and breathable swaddles that are perfect for the new born baby.

Pyjamas, nightdresses and dressing gowns in the cutest designs are available for ages up to nine years-old, made with 100 % cotton. We love that the materials are also available to buy to continue the enchanting Isla and Wilbur theme across any room.
