Garden centres are so much more than a place to go and pick up gardening supplies and plants. In winter, they’re often the best places to pick up your tree and decorations, and all year round they have awesome local produce and often a comforting cafe to enjoy some tasty baked treats with tea or a typical British filling yet wholesome lunch. Here are a few of our favourite garden centres in The Cotswolds where you can stock up on garden supplies and all sorts of other goodies too!

One simply cannot talk about garden centres in The Cotswolds without mentioning the Burford Garden Company. It is so much more than just a garden centre. Founded in 1975 by Nigel Johnson and his family, it is a one stop destination for planting supplies and gardenelia, home decor, art, clothes, beauty and food. Having grown successfully over the years it is beautifully laid out, inviting and superbly well stocked with the latest garden and interior trends. The cafe is always a welcome spot for a little shopping respite and a delicious piece of cake! Burford itself is just down the road and a wonderful Cotswold town to explore.

Always stuck on where to get your Christmas tree? Exedra Nursery is your answer! Their fabulous trees are such a popular choice and families go back every year as a seasonal tradition. Earlier this year, they relocated from their nursery in Miserden, where we had been supplying the same Christmas trees for more than 20 years, to the Rococo Garden and have kept their reputation for the best quality trees with the move.

With its arboretum a destination for exploring beautiful trees and nature, you know that the Batsford garden centre will be a haven for those with a passion for plants and gardening. If you've seen something you love in the Arboretum, chances are that you'll find the same plant, or something similar, in their plant centre. On top of some of the most impressive plants you can find in a garden centre, Batsford also have a lovely garden terrace cafe. Overlooking the plant centre and Evenlode Valley beyond, it’s a wonderful space while away time admiring the views and enjoying locally-sourced and produced food.
